As a Mother myself, I truly understand the benefits of hypnosis, not only during childbirth, but during the pregnancy as well.
The mind can be trained to experience discomfort as only pressure, and that is what is achieved in childbirth hypnosis. In addition, with labour, the more relaxed the mother is, the more comfort she will have.
Physical relaxation, using guided visualisations followed by positive hypnotic suggestions, is learned and practiced daily in preparation for birth. Suggestion is given to the subconscious mind to believe that birth will be comfortable, easy and more enjoyable.
In other cultures, childbirth is regarded as a natural, normal event in a woman's life. The women in labour are given support from other women, and children are often present to witness the event. In this way, birth is celebrated and honoured. Young girls then grow up with the belief system that birth is a positive event and their expectations of childbirth reflect this attitude.
As a result, their births are similar to their predecessors; without pain and fear. They have a positive expectation of childbirth. In our culture, it is very much the opposite. For many generations we have been told that delivering a baby involves many hours of painfully agonising work, to be faced with fear and trepidation. We experience pain in childbirth, in part because we very much expect to!
'Tammy, I also wanted to say even though things didn't go as planned for meit was a wonderful experience and I don't think I could have done it without the hypno birthing techniques. I'd always had a fear of having a spinal/epidural and the thought of being awake during a theatre procedure had petrified me but I got into my colour zone and my safe zone I didn't even feel the epidural going in I was able to relax and enjoy the whol experience. I can't thank you enough.'
Self-Hypnosis for Childbirth
These sessions will teach you how to enter into self-hypnosis instantly, and create your own natural anaesthesia whenever and wherever you need it. You will have control over your body, and be able to be an active participant in your birth process. As labour progresses, you relax even more, trusting in your body's natural ability to give birth with ease and comfort.
Can women give birth without experiencing pain? They can, but there are many variables in labour and birth that can affect the outcome, and couples need to have a positive but realistic view of hypnosis for childbirth.
Less or no use of analgesic drugs means less risk of side effects on mother and baby.

I teach the benefits of self-hypnosis to enable a relaxed approach to the baby's birth and not necessarily working just with the Mum-to-be, Dads are invited too so they remain calm under the pressure and play an active role in the birth.
Please do call and arrange an initial consultation so we can chat through your individual situation.
