Choice, choice, CHOICES!

So while you’re pondering this, let me ask you a question….how flexible are you? And I don’t mean this in a gymnastic kind of way! In other words, if we only have one choice how to react to a situation then we might as well be a robot. So for me, choices and flexibility are a good thing! 

Can you spot a pattern in the responses your subconscious produces? If you’re thinking ‘yes’, then that’s a good indicator that in those situations flexibility is missing. And the easiest way to get more unconscious choices is through solution focused hypnotherapy, CBT and NLP.

It’s a really useful exercise to pay attention, wonder at and be curious by about what patterns your unconscious does automatically and repeatedly. For example, how do you feel when you are being criticised? Anxious, less confident, depressed? Or how about when someone suggests doing something a different way to what you’re doing? Angry, annoyed?

What people fail to realise is that not having a different choice is a choice. Feeling insecure is a choice. Being negative is a choice. Being angry is a choice. Feeling fear is a choice. Taking no action is a choice. Improving your self-confidence is a choice. Deciding to let go of an old life story is a choice. Making the changes you want is a choice.

Now making these changes isn’t necessarily going to be easy but with the right help, the right therapy, these patterns can be changed. You can have a much brighter future, it is possible and it is within reach!

Remember, whilst you can not control life, you can always control your response to life.

No matter what the situation, remind yourself “I DO have a choice”.
